A 1X2 bet is a three-way market on the full-time result of a football match. 1 denotes a home team win. X denotes a draw. 2 denotes an away team win. Unlike Asian handicap or Draw No Bet markets, there is no refund on a draw in a standard 1X2 bet — you either win or lose. The simplicity of the market makes it the most widely traded in football and the foundation on which all other markets are built.
xGaura's 1X2 predictions are derived from a Poisson distribution model calibrated on a 38-match rolling window for each team. The model ingests each team's average goals scored and conceded, home and away advantage factors, and Elo rating differentials to produce a full probability distribution over all possible scorelines. A 1X2 tip is published where xGaura's model probability for one outcome meaningfully exceeds the bookmaker's implied probability.
In the 1X2 market, home advantage is a significant and well-documented factor. Across Europe's top five leagues, the home side wins approximately 46% of matches, draws occur in around 26% of games, and the away side wins in approximately 28%. However, these averages mask significant variation. Our confidence rating helps you distinguish between the higher-conviction and more speculative picks.
